Dianna Jackson

Dianna Imogene Dugger Jackson, 85, of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born September 27, 1939 in Oklahoma City to the late Edward Allison Dugger and Imogene Raboin Dugger. She was an only child who never met a stranger. One of her favorite phrases was “Well That’s Interesting” and this defined how she lived her life. Interested - in sewing into other’s lives, interested in history, reading, gardening, square dancing, fishing and talking about her family and grandchildren. She kept every picture and clipped articles that she thought would be of interest to others. Your birthday card was sure to have a picture in it. She was an avid reader, especially enjoying U.S. Presidential History. She had a goal to visit all of the American Presidential Libraries and while she wasn’t able to fulfill that goal, she made up for by reading and studying all she could about those Presidents. Professionally, she worked at Travelers Insurance for 25+ years and Cunningham Lindsey Insurance while simultaneously building a family business with her husband Bill Lauback and parenting her three rascally children. She learned the art of chair caning from her mother and turned this into a profitable business after retirement. She was a beloved member of Putnam City United Methodist Church where she served for years in the food pantry ministry. She was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and she took that diagnosis “under advisement” beating the odds and living out the years with gusto. She moved across the country, got married at 80 years young and had a beautiful group of “the girl squad” in Fort Payne Alabama that supported her with many fun capers. Special thanks to Tammy Sharp, Jean Hill and many others for the care and love she received. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fischer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:30 on Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home of Fort Payne. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Putnam City United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is survived by her children Kelli Carter (Tom), Carrie Ann Burleson (Hayden), and Kyle Lauback (Mary); grandchildren Riley, Hunter, Morgan, Carter, Graham, Kyley Beth, Billy Kyle, and Calleigh Nicole; and great-grandchildren Gage, Elora, Hayden, Greer, Ace, Rosco, Ruca, Callie, Harper, Ryan, Emmett, Violet, Coen, Waylon, and Amari. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Jackson in 2022. Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
