Louis "Buddy" Daus

Louis “Buddy” Daus, Jr. of Fort Payne, Alabama, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and friend to many, ascended to Heaven to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday April 18th, 2013. He will be sorely missed in the hearts of all that he touched during his 82 years on Earth. Buddy, as he was affectionately known by all, was born August 28th, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas to loving parents Louis, Sr. and Lucy Deavers Daus. He was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Little Rock and began a 44 year career in the baking industry in his hometown at Colonial Baking Co. and culminating in retirement at Merico, Inc. in Fort Payne. He was a graduate of the Dunwoody Institute of Baking of Minnesota and held many managerial positions throughout his career with parent company Campbell-Taggart. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and The Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was of the Methodist faith. Buddy was preceded in his passing by his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Bosshardt Daus, both of his parents, sisters Mary Grimes and Freda Heard, half-brother Willie Raggio, and half-sister Annie White. Left to cherish his loving memory are son Kennon Wayne Daus (Debra) of Paris, TX, daughter Virginia Daus “Sissy” Graden (Doug) of Dutton, AL, sister Frances Roller of Little Rock, AR, grandchildren Allison Hawley (Jimmy) of Vestavia Hills, AL, Redgie Daus (fiancé Holly Slenk) of Clarksville, TX , Bethany Sloan (Ryan) of Paris, TX, great- grandchildren Logan and Grant Hawley of Vestavia Hills, AL, numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends, and two precious puppies Rosie and Cookie. Visitation will be conducted from 6-9pm Saturday April 20th at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne, AL and services are scheduled at Section United Methodist Church in Section, AL on Sunday April 21st at 2pm with visitation at the church one hour before service. Burial will be in the Section Methodist Church cemetery immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be Gary Talley, Terry Linville, Ben Linville, Phillip Hastings, Jerry Flagg, and Macklin Phillips. Daddy, Pawpaw, G-paw, leaves behind a wonderful and loving memory to all that he came to know and love throughout his life and he will live on forever in our hearts and minds
