Bobby Lee Beatty

January 15, 1935 - April 27, 2022

Bobby Lee Beatty, 87, of Rainsville, formerly of Lithionia, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home. He was born January 15, 1935, in Deer Lodge, Tennessee, to the late Harve and Marie Galloway Beatty. He proudly served the United States Navy in the Korean War on the USS Kearsarge CVA33. For over 36 years, Mr. Beatty was an active member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, where he served as deacon. He was a retired diesel mechanic and enjoyed “playing in the dirt” in his garden. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Zac Gardner and Rev. Craig White officiating. Burial will follow in Kirk Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Two or More Ministry, 1481 McCurdy Ave. S., Rainsville, AL 35986. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Earnestine Hall Beatty; son Keith Beatty and wife Elizabeth; brother Alvin Beatty; sisters Beverly Clough and Sue Capley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Marie Beatty, and siblings Ronald Beatty, Phyllis Freels, and Loretta Patton.
